  • The Boo‑Foons Hits a Paranormal Podcast Milestone

In just nine months, Steve and Dan have gone from “two mates poking ghosts with sticks” to one of the fastest‑growing paranormal‑comedy podcasts in the UK. With 61 episodes released and over 5,000 downloads, the show has officially crossed from “passion project” into “proper community phenomenon”.

What started as a simple idea, two curious weirdos exploring folklore, hauntings, and the wonderfully unexplainable, has become a weekly ritual for listeners who crave a mix of mystery, humour, and Boo‑Foons‑brand chaos.

A Nine‑Month Sprint of Curiosity, Chaos, and Community

Most podcasts never make it past episode 10. The Boo‑Foons hit 61.

Most indie shows take years to find an audience. The Boo‑Foons hit 5,000 downloads in less than a year.

That growth didn’t happen by accident. It came from:

    • Consistent weekly episodes that blend storytelling, humour, and genuine curiosity
    • A growing roster of fascinating guests, from paranormal investigators to sound engineers to folklore experts
    • A unique tone that makes the supernatural feel accessible, fun, and occasionally ridiculous
    • A loyal listener base who tune in for the ghosts and giggles

We think we have have carved out a space where folklore meets friendship, and where the unexplained becomes an adventure rather than a lecture.

Highlights From the First 60 Episodes

Across the first nine months, the Boo‑Foons have:

    • Investigated folklore from the UK, Japan, Europe, and beyond
    • Debated cryptids with the seriousness of a UN summit
    • Interviewed experts who brought new depth to paranormal topics
    • Explored ghost hunts, changelings, UFO lore, and the stranger corners of human psychology
    • Delivered the kind of off‑the‑rails tangents that listeners now expect and adore

Every episode has added another layer to the Boo‑Foons universe, a world where curiosity is king, humour is mandatory, and the supernatural is always up for discussion.

    What’s Next for the Boo‑Foons?

If the first ten months were the warm‑up, the next year is the main event.

    Coming up:

    • Bigger guests
    • Deeper dives into folklore and paranormal history
    • More collabriations
    • More ‘Off The Case’ nonsense
    • And, inevitably… more chaos

The Boo‑Foons aren’t just making a podcast. they’re building a universe of curiosity, humour, and supernatural storytelling.

    A Message to the Listeners

To everyone who downloaded, shared, reviewed, or shouted “LISTEN TO THIS” at a friend, thank you. You’re the reason the Boo‑Foons have hit this milestone so quickly.

Here’s to the next 60 episodes. Here’s to the next 5,000 downloads. And here’s to keeping the weird, the wonderful, and the unexplained alive.

  • The Boo‑Foons vs. The Nuckelavee

This week, the Boo‑Foons head to the farthest reaches of the United Kingdom, the rugged, wind‑lashed islands of Orkney and Shetland. With their trademark mix of curiosity and chaos, Steve and Dan dive headfirst into the myths that haunt these northern shores. From sea‑spirits and skinless horses to ancient warnings whispered on the wind, every legend seems more bizarre, and more believable, than the last.

Armed with cameras, gadgets, and questionable bravery, the duo investigates the eerie tales that have shaped island folklore for centuries. But not everything goes according to plan. Between chasing spectral horses and deciphering local lore, Dan gets hopelessly distracted by a certain village name that’s impossible to say with a straight face. (Let’s just say the Shetland locals are used to visitors giggling.)

Will the Boo‑Foons uncover the truth behind the Nuckelavee’s curse, or will they simply add another chapter to their ever‑growing list of near‑disasters? Either way, it’s another unforgettable investigation, equal parts spooky and ridiculous, straight from the edge of the map.

  • Signals From the Other Side: A Sound Engineer’s Take on the Paranormal

When the Boo‑Foons sit down with someone, you never quite know where the conversation will go, and this episode is a perfect example. This week, the lads are joined by sound engineer and all‑round creative powerhouse Chris Bullock, whose unique blend of technical expertise and open‑minded curiosity makes her an ideal guest for a deep dive into the strange, the unseen, and the wonderfully weird.

Chris brings a perspective shaped by years working behind the scenes in film, TV, and audio production, where the line between illusion and reality is thinner than most people realise. From the tricks of the trade to the moments where the unexplained refuses to stay in the shadows, she offers a rare look at how the paranormal intersects with the world of media.

But this episode doesn’t stop at ghosts and gadgets. Chris also explores the mysteries of the human mind, why we perceive what we perceive, how our brains fill in the blanks, and why some experiences feel so profoundly real even when logic tries to argue otherwise. It’s a conversation that moves effortlessly between psychology, storytelling, and the supernatural.

With topics ranging from haunted locations to audio anomalies, belief vs. scepticism, and the creative power of imagination, this episode is one of the widest‑ranging and most thought‑provoking yet. Whether you’re a believer, a sceptic, or somewhere in between, Chris brings insights that will have you rethinking how you see, and hear the world around you.

  • Boo‑Foons on the BBC!

There are moments in this wonderfully chaotic Boo‑Foons journey where we have to stop, look at each other, and say…

“How on earth did we get here?”

This is one of those moments.

The Boo‑Foons Mystery Investigators has been growing faster than we ever expected. Every week, more listeners join the madness, more stories come our way, and more people tell us how much they love the podcast. It’s surreal, humbling, and absolutely brilliant.

    And now we’ve hit a brand‑new milestone.

We were featured on the BBC!

That’s right. The BBC thought our paranormal nonsense was good enough to showcase on BBC Upload with Rob Jelly, broadcast across the eastern regions on:

    • BBC Norfolk
    • BBC Essex
    • BBC Suffolk
    • BBC Beds, Herts & Bucks

Hearing Boo‑Foons on the radio was a pinch‑yourself moment.

Hearing Rob Jelly call us brilliant?

    Even better.

You can listen to the feature on BBC Sounds HERE
We appear at around 9 minutes in.

We’ve been told the feature will be played again live from 6pm on Saturday across the stations above, so if you want to hear Boo‑Foons echoing across the airwaves once more, tune in and join the fun.

This project started as two mates chasing mysteries, laughing too loudly, and telling stories we probably shouldn’t. Now it’s reaching places we never imagined, and that’s entirely thanks to everyone who listens, shares, and supports what we do.

Here’s to more mysteries, more chaos, and more unexpected milestones. Onwards, Boo‑Fooners.

  • Boo-Foons Launch Off The Case!

Boo-Foons Off the Case launches as the latest chaotic off‑duty adventure from the Boo-Foons Mystery Investigators, and this new Saturday series sets out to do one thing above all else: let Steve and Dan loose. The debut episode welcomes viewers into a space where the usual paranormal sleuthing is firmly put aside, replaced with a freer, sillier, and far more unfiltered version of the duo.

    A New Saturday Tradition

The first episode opens with a warm introduction to Boo-Foons Off the Case, positioning it as a weekly breather from the main investigations. Instead of chasing ghosts, analysing EMF spikes, or debating the finer points of supernatural folklore, Steve and Dan simply show up as themselves, two mates riffing, rambling, and embracing the kind of nonsense that never quite fits into a structured investigation.
This shift gives the Boo-Foons community something fresh: a weekend hangout that feels spontaneous, relaxed, and delightfully stupid in all the right ways.

What “Off the Case” Really Means

The premise is simple but effective. When Steve and Dan are “off the case,” they’re not hunting mysteries, they’re stepping away from the investigator personas and leaning into their natural chemistry. Expect:

    • Unscripted banter that spirals into the unexpected
    • Behind-the-scenes energy without the pressure of solving anything
    • New content formats, experiments, and playful segments
    • A looser, more personal vibe that shows the Boo-Foons as people, not just paranormal hosts
    • It’s the kind of show where the stakes are low, the laughs are high, and the only mystery is what they’ll end up talking about next.

Why This Series Matters for the Boo-Foons Universe

By carving out a dedicated Saturday slot, the Boo-Foons are expanding their world in a way that strengthens the connection with their audience. Fans get more time with Steve and Dan, more personality-driven content, and more opportunities to join in the fun without needing to follow a case file.

It also gives the creators room to experiment, new ideas, new formats, and new ways to keep the Boo-Foons brand lively and unpredictable.

A Weekly Dose of Controlled Chaos

Boo-Foons Off the Case is, at its heart, a celebration of the duo’s dynamic. It’s relaxed, fun, and proudly stupid, exactly the kind of weekend energy that invites viewers to switch off, laugh along, and enjoy the Boo-Foons in their purest form.
The first episode sets the tone perfectly: no investigations, no pressure, just Steve and Dan being Steve and Dan. And for fans, that’s more than enough.

  • Boo-Foons meet The Bantering Banshees.

Boo-Foons Join Bantering Banshees After Dark for a Paranormal Crossover Packed with Chaos, Chills, and Laughter.

The Boo-Foons Mystery Investigators are celebrating a major moment in their ever-growing paranormal escapades: a guest appearance on the latest episode of Bantering Banshees After Dark. The crossover marks a lively collision of two fan‑favourite teams, bringing together the Boo-Foons’ trademark blend of curiosity, chaos, and good‑natured boo‑foonery with the Banshees’ late‑night storytelling flair.

A Night of Shared Hauntings and Hysterics

Listeners are treated to a rare meeting of minds, and mischief as Steve and Dan crash the Banshees’ after-hours recording. The conversation dives straight into real personal paranormal encounters, the kind that linger in the back of your mind long after the lights go out. Both teams swap stories of eerie happenings, unexplained sensations, and the strange little moments that make even seasoned investigators glance over their shoulders.

Despite the creeping tension, the room never stays serious for long. Every unsettling detail is balanced with laughter, quick-fire banter, and the kind of camaraderie that only comes from people who spend far too much time poking at the unknown.

A Finale That Tests Nerves and Instincts

As the episode winds into the small hours, the teams take on a game designed to push their instincts, bravery, and composure to the limit. With the unknown poking back at every turn, the challenge becomes a perfect blend of suspense and silliness, exactly the kind of energy both shows thrive on.

And the Best Part? The Collaboration Isn’t Over

The Boo-Foons have confirmed that the Banshees will be joining their show very soon, marking the second half of this paranormal double‑feature. Fans of both podcasts can expect even more shared chaos, more stories from the shadows, and more moments where everyone laughs just a little too loudly to hide the nerves.

The Boo-Foons say they’re “really excited” for what’s ahead, and if this first crossover is anything to go by, listeners have every reason to be as well.

  • Collaboration Announcement: Boo‑Foons x Michael & Jeremy Steal Your Podcast

A Partnership Nobody Asked For… But We’re Doing It Anyway

In a move that can only be described as bold, reckless, and legally questionable, the Boo‑Foons Mystery Investigators have teamed up with the unstoppable chaos gremlins behind Michael and Jeremy Steal Your Podcast.

    Yes, you read that correctly.

They stole our podcast… so we made it official.

During what was meant to be a routine recording session, Michael and Jeremy executed a flawless distraction manoeuvre by sending us on an “urgent” beer run. With the hosts temporarily exiled to the supermarket, the duo seized the mics, commandeered the studio, and proceeded to interview private investigator Casey about the unsettling legend of The Smiling Man.

Rather than press charges, we decided to embrace the madness.

This collaboration brings together the Boo‑Foons’ love of folklore, mystery, and spooky nonsense with Michael & Jeremy’s talent for hijacking, improvising, and causing delightful mayhem and a shared commitment to making podcasting just a little bit weirder.

Stay tuned for more crossovers, more chaos, and possibly more beer‑related distractions.

What started as two mates chatting nonsense, poking at the paranormal, and seeing how much chaos we could cram into a microphone has grown into something we genuinely look forward to creating every single week. We absolutely love making this podcast, the stories, the silliness, the spooky tangents, the unexpected moments, and the joy of knowing that somewhere out there, someone is laughing along with us.

Your support means the world, and it’s what keeps us pushing to make each episode better than the last. We’re always trying to improve, experiment, and entertain… and we’re nowhere near done yet.

We Want to Hear From You

One of our favourite parts of this whole adventure is hearing from listeners. Your feedback, suggestions, and wild ideas help shape the show more than you know. Whether it’s a topic you want us to explore, a story you want to share, or just a message saying “that episode made me snort tea out my nose”, we’re here for it.

You can reach us across all our social media channels — drop us a message, tag us, send a carrier pigeon. We love it all.

    What’s Next?

We’ve got some fun collaborations brewing behind the scenes, and we can’t wait to share them with you. New voices, new stories, new chaos, all coming soon. So keep listening, keep spreading the word, and keep being the brilliant bunch that makes Boo‑Foons what it is.

Here’s to the next 20 episodes… and the next thousand listens.
